- Arthur Howard COMPTON, Chief Officer, Merchant Navy on M. V. El Mirlo (London) died 9th December 1942 aged 34 at the Raigmore Emergency Hospital, Inverness. He was the son of Edwin Howard Compton and Laura Elizabeth Compton and husband of Nancy Akeroyd Compton, nee Brown of 103 Park Lane, Guisborough. He is at rest in Guisborough Cemetery, Yorkshire near his wife.
