Arthur George SPEAR alias TURNER. Charge man of Electrical Fitters, HM Dockyard, Malta. Born about 1876 in Hinton Blewitt, Somerset. Son of James and Anna Maria Spear nee Dudden. Husband of Emily nee James who he married in Bath, Somerset, 1897. He died 29th May 1924 aged 48 in Royal Naval Hospital, Malta from abscess of lung, urethral stricture and chronic bronchitis under the name of Arthur George TURNER. It appears from information found in a Family Tree on Ancestry that his correct name was Arthur George SPEAR who left his work and disappeared from his family. His civilian occupation was an electrician in a theatre.
