The construction of this church was started by British troops during the Boer War in recognition of their comrades who lost their lives. When the War finished and the troops were repatriated the church was incomplete. The right end of the building as can seen, was constructed after the war with normal face brick. It is clear where the troops ended thier phase of the job.
