- Alfred Ernest BALSDON, Squadron Quartermaster-Sergeant 2nd Class (S.Q.M.S.) 7657247 Royal Army Pay Corps, previously Staff Sergeant 1260. Born in Bristol 9th August 1878, to Hanmoe and Mary Balsdon nee Counsell. 1881 residing with his parents and siblings at Wine Street, Bristol. Died 1st August 1928 His widow, Edna May, nee Marshall, lived at 20, Park Row, New Park, Harrogate after her husband had died. His medals were also sent to this address. She was granted a gratuity on the 20 September 1928. At rest in Pieta Military Cemetery, Malta.
