BREAKWELL Alfred. Pioneer, 369883, "E" Coy., Royal Engineers who died on 16 April 1920 Age 21 He was the son of Horace, and Ann Scott nee Jackson of 6, Herbert Street, Wolverhampton. He is at rest in Wolverhampton Cemetery, Staffordshire.. Some notes form his army record. He enlisted on the 9th August 1917 and was posted as Private 95691, 7th Territorial Force, Sherwood Foresters. His occupation prior to enlistment was a telephone attendant, linesman. He was aged 18 and 1 month and he lived with his parents at 6, Herbert Street. On the 11th September 1918 he was transferred to the Royal Engineers as Private 369883 and posted to 597th (Humber) Fortress Company. On the 11th March 1920 he was medically discharged from the army due to him suffering pain and discomfort from and old thigh fracture which he sustained on the 28th July 1914 and was treated at Wolverhampton General Hospital. He was the brother of George Horace who served in the great war but died in 1921 as the result of injuries received in action in 1916.
