Sergeant 542937, Alec Mark BLINKO, 144th Battery, 35th Light Anti Aircraft Regiment, Royal Artillery, died on the 5th March 1943 aged 39 at Ballali Island. He was born in 1903 to Henry George and Amelia and he was the husband of Alice Letitia, nee West, of High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. He is commemorated on a paviour beside the Far Eastern Prisoner of War Memorial Building, at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire and also on the Singapore Memorial, Singapore.
