Albert LEATHER

LEATHER, Albert. Lance Corporal 3/29439, 2nd Lancashire Fusiliers he fell in action at Arras 12th July 1917 aged 21. He was the son of Joseph and Emma Leather, of 173, Wigan Road, Leigh. (UK, Army Registers of Soldiers Effects , Ancestry have the following) He died of wounds and his father was granted a war gratuity on the 8th November 1917, revised on the 15th December 1919.
He is commemorated on a memorial in Leigh Cemetery, Lancashire and he is at rest in St Nicolas British Cemetery, France
