GREEN, Albert. Private 12951, 9th Cheshire Regiment, killed in action in France on the 1st November 1915 aged 19. He was the son of James and Ellen of Hayes Yard, Macclesfield.
He is commemorated on his brother, Lance Corporal Arthur Green'a, memorial at Macclesfield Cemetery, Cheshire and he at rest in Le Touret Military Cemetery, Richebourg-L'Avoue, France.
His brothers Lance Corporal 15273 Arthur, Private 49497 John Henry and Private 244966 Joseph also fell in the war.
Some notes from what remains of his army record. He enlisted on the 31st August 1914 aged 19 years and 274 days. He was by occupation a silk finisher and he lived with his parents at Hayes Yard, Macclesfield. His sister Mrs Margaret Hodkinson of 32 Hayes Yard, Macclesfield was his next of kin. He embarked from Folkestone for the British Expeditionary Force, France on the 19th July 1915 and on the 1st November 1915 he was killed in action in the field.
His is commemorated on a family memorial at Macclesfield Cemetery, Cheshire.
