Extended Description
Flight Sergeant Albert Ernest ARTER 1256391 Halifax Bomber Command Pilot (Pathfinder) Force Group 8, Squadron 35 12.11.1922. Shot down 23.8.1942 over Berlin. Son of Albert John and Florence Daisy Arter, of Catford, London. His devotion to duty even though wounded, helped save the lives of his crew. Remembered always by his proud family.
Wills and Admin, Ancestry. He lived at 13 Carstairs Road, Catford, London and died on date stated. His effects went to his mother.
Commemorated on a memorial plaque at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire. At rest in a joint grave 4.B.22-23 Berlin 1939-1945 War Cemetery.
