Warships in the harbour at Valetta, Malta yesterday 3rd flew flags at half mast for the funeral of Royal Navy Chief Yeoman Signals A.E. William (Alfred Edward) of Devonport who died from burns when a grass skirt in which he was dancing at a New Year party caught fire. The party was at the Royal Naval Air Station, HMS Falcon at Halfar Malta where he was stationed. He was buried at naval cemetery Bighi.
