- SMITH Albert Alfred. Officers Steward, L/4179 Royal Navy on HMS Russell. Born 3 June 1894 at Brighton Sussex to Albert Alfred and Ada Caroline nee Tugnutt. In 1901 he resided with his parents and siblings at 2 Vale Budge Villas Keymer Sussex Enlisted 3 January 1913 on HMS Pembroke I, occupation prior to enlistment gardener. Died 28th April 1916 when HMS Russell was sunk by a mine.
At rest in Plot C Grave 315 Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta.
