Flight Lieutenant Alan Leonard Jose MAY. No. 189886 Royal Air Force stationed at RAF South Cerney.
Died 28 July 1952 aged 30 as the result of a mid air collision near Calmsden Gloucestershire during an instrument flying training sortie. He was pilot of a Harvard T.29 FS822 with Flt Sgt Walter Cyril STOKES when he collided with Narvard T.2B KF948 flown by Flt Lt Timothy Allman BRIDGE both died. Born 2 February 1922 at Wandsworth, London to Leonard and Hilda May nee Didcock, husband of Moria nee McTurk.

Inscription on foot of headstone reads. In ever loving memory of Alan a dear husband and father.

Wills and Admin, Ancestry. He resided at 34 Berkeley Waye, Heston, Middlesex, died 28 July 1952 at Ampney Down Farm, Ampney Crucis, Gloucestershire. His effects went to Leonard May, transport employee and Hilda May wife of the said Leonard.
