Never seen this before and could not find much information about it.
It looks to me to be rigged with Electromagnets and the large box shape at the rea is possibly the generator for the electrical power source.
I don't know how Electromagnets were used in Mine clearance but believe that is a possibility.

During the early part of World War II, The Arnold Engineering Company manufactured parts for the Sherman and M-3 tanks. (the website referred to electro magnets)
