RAF 47 Squadron Memorial

At the National Memorial Arboretum, Alfewas.

The new memorial, by the award-winning sculptor Peter W Naylor, is a representation of past, present and future members of No. 47 Squadron and is sited next to the River Thame. It spans the Squadron’s 100-year history by depicting a WWI pilot, a 1950s groundcrew mechanic, and the three-person crew (including one female) of a current C-130 Hercules aircraft.
