Born 29 December 1852 at Officers Quarters, Royal Artillery Barracks, Woolwich to George and Elizabeth Spiller, nee Giles. Married in 1873 at Widley, Portsmouth to Julia Ann Tice. 1881 residing with his wife and children at Strond Street, Dover, Kent. Died 4th November 1886 General Hospital, Valletta. Malta.
His wife passed away in 1926 at Ash Kent.
At rest in an unmarked burial in Pieta Military Cemetery, Malta Plot 2 Row 7 Grave 12.
