2.02.02 Joseph BEDENHAM, 52nd Oxfordshire Light Infantry, died on 29 April 1870 aged 20 years from Simple Continued Fever. He had served for only two years and had been employed as a hospital orderly. He was admitted with diarrhoea and pneumonia, became delirious 16 days after falling ill, and died on the 20th day of his illness. A post-mortem examination showed normal lungs and normal bowels but a large spleen.
2.02.02 Jeremiah FITZGERALD. 52nd Oxfordshire Light Infantry, died 24th February 1872, aged 38 years
2.02.02 Charles PROCTOR. 52nd Oxfordshire Light Infantry, died 11th November 1872, aged 33 years
All stationed at Lower St Elmo Barracks, Valletta, Malta
The memorial was erected by the Officers, Non-Commissioned Officers and Men of H Company, 52nd Light Infantry.
