Unfortunately only 8 Type 26's to be built instead of the original 13. And that magic number was to replace the 13 current Type 23 vessels in service. 8 hulls to replace 13 is not a good swap IMHO.
I know that the MoD intends on ordering a "lighter" vessel to make up the numbers but it still leads to a huge warfare capability gap.
