OHKA and Dinah

I have no idea where I got this picture from.It might possibly be from the Smithsonian's aircraft preservation site in SilverHills,Maryland. My father-in-law was there a few years ago. The gray plane in front is the Yokosuka MXY7 Ohka" Cherry Blossom" rocket powered kamakaze plane, called "BAKA" stupid by the allied troops. The plane behind the Ohka is a Mitsubishi Ki-46 "Dinah" fast long range recon. , to the extreme left is a very rare Kawasaki Ki-100 II. A Kawasaki Ki-61 "Tony" inline engine frame married to a Mitsubishi Ha-112-II Ru ,14 cylinder radial air cooled 1,500hp engine. The were to little to late but very impressive; going 454mph at 19,685ft, a range 1,118 miles 2-20mm cannons in wings and 2 .50cal in the nose, 1,100lbs of ordinance. They could hold there own and would have made for some interesting Dogfights in the south pacfic .

Thank you for the info. I have been in a self induced exile. It is time to once again have some fun! Have you been to this museum. I would love to have some photo's at different angles of the Ki-100. I have 2 waiting for me to be built, that I put aside over 9 years ago when I 1st got injured. I am way over due to get back into my model building. I just lost a very close childhood buddy to cancer and I was priviledged to spend almost every day with him over a period of 5 weeks, until he got me to swear to get back to my model building. I am the one who 45years ago got him into the hobby of military modeling of tanks ,planes, and ships. Thank you again . NightStalker
