Born 27 February 1917 at Fermoy, County Cork, Ireland to James Sheehan and of Mary Sheehan, nee Hearne. Enlisted 10 February 1940 at Vancouver, British Columbia

He was part of a crew of five in a Lancaster Bomber III JA856 of 460 Squadron on bombing operation over Munich Germany when the plane was shot down 2 October 1943 with the loss of the crew.

At rest In Durnbach War Cemetery, Bayern, Germany
