Born 1911 to Blanche Margaret and Joseph Warren Scadeng. 1911 residing with his parents and sibling at 66 Tannsfield Road, Sydenham, London S.E. Husband of Lotty Mary Scadeng, of Camberwell, London. 1939 residing with his wife at 71 Tremaine Road, Oenge, Kent, occupation acting cashier for London Brand of Canadian Life Assurance Group. Died 28th February 1941 aged 30 years. Wills and Admin, Ancestry. His residence was 11 The Drove, Andover, Hampshire. His effects went to his widow.



F018 ROBERT ERIC McCRIRICK, Corporal, 1035584, Royal Air Force (VR). Born 5 June 1913 at Burnos Aires to Mary Elizabeth nee Bellis and James William McCririck, of Liverpool. Died in General Hospital, Malta 30th December 1942 aged 29 years. Wills and Admin, Ancestry. His residence was 24 Coningsby Road, Anfield Liverpool. His effects went to widowed mother.

His father served in the Great War as Sergeant 109766 Inland Water Transport Corps, Royal Engineers. Enlisted 17 July 1915 at Liverpool and transferred to Army Reserve Class Z 30 May 1919


F018 ALFRED EDMUND KLENIEWSKI. Flight Sergeant , Wireless Operator P/780771 Polish Air Force attached to 138 Squadron, Royal Air Force. Crew of Handley Page Halifax Bomber DT542. Born 9 November 1918 at Maczewo, County Mlawa, Poland. Died 17th December 1942 aged 24. Aircraft landed at Malta on a transit flight from the Middle East. Took off for Gibraltar after re-fuelling carrying 11 military passengers. Crashed after take-off on open ground, limits of Zejtun. Flown by a six-man Polish crew. All on board were killed

Killed 17th December 1942 aged 26 years. Aircraft landed at Malta on a transit flight from the Middle East. Took off for Gibraltar after re-fuelling carrying 11 military passengers. Crashed after take-off on open ground, limits of Zejtun. Flown by a six-man Polish crew. All on board were killed

F018 CYRIL DENNIS BROWNE, Leading Aircraftman (Ground Staff) 1069726, Royal Air Force (VR), 138 Squadron. He was a passenger in a Halifax bomber which crashed 17th December 1942 near RAF Luqa, Malta.


F018 STANLEY EDWARD KELLY Aircraftman 1st Class 1493201, Royal Air Force (VR), 244 Wing Royal Air Force. Born 1902 to George and Mary Ann Kelly. Husband of Alice Beatrice Kelly, Wood Green, London. He was a passenger in a Halifax bomber which crashed 17th December 1942 near RAF Luqa, Malta, aged 40 years.

Polish Air Force and one RAF crew and passengers, total seventeen in a Handley Page Halifax four engined heavy bomber Serial number DT542 on a Transit Flight from Cairo, via Malta for England. The plane took off from RAF Luqa after re-fuelling at about 04.00 hrs and crashed on open ground beyond the runway in the area of Zejtun, Malta on 17th December 1942 killing all 17 on board. The cause of the accident may have been engine failure. Another theory is, that the plane had just flown over Zejtun when a large explosion was heard and the plane crashed into fields then caught fire. It is believed that is was mistakenly shot down by Anti-Aircraft gun fire.
Unfortunately, those who knew what happened were killed
