Dorothy Mary Yarwood BALDWIN. Nursing Sister CAMC, No 3 Canadian Stationary Hospital, based in an old citadel near Doullens, France
Born 10 October 1891 at Toronto, Ontario to Robert and Mary Baldwin of Paris, Ontario. She graduated at Victoria Hospital, London, Ontario. Enlisted 2 May 1917 at Toronto Ontario. Gave her address as 173 Lowther Avenue, Ontario. Her mother was her next of kin. She was taken on strength the same day with Base Hospital, Toronto. On the 29 May 1917 she embarked Halifax bound for Liverpool, England disembarking Liverpool 08 June 1917 and taken on strength with Orpington Military Hospital, Kent. The 25 July 1917 she proceeded overseas to France and joined No 3 Canadian Stationary Hospital Doullens on the 27 July 1917.
She was on duty in the officer’s ward when enemy aircraft dropped bombs on her hospital at Doulens France completely destroying the North Wing the 30 May 1918. She received injuries from which she died shortly after, aged 26.
