Knocked-out Cromwell of the 5th Royal Horse Artillery 7th Armoured Division, in Villers-Bocage Normandy after the village was reoccupied by British Forces - 5 August 1944
This Cromwell had been commanded by Captain Paddy Victory, and was one of more than twelve armoured vehicles attacked by Michael Wittmann during the Battle of Villers-Bocage on 13 June 1944.
Captain Paddy Victory survived his Cromwell being taken out. He was later awarded the Military Cross for knocking out a German anti-tank gun with a Bren, and retired as a Lt Col, he passed away in 2006.
