Coveñas, Sucre. Focus, precision, and discipline in every exercise. The aspiring Marine Corps members of the third 2026 contingent are advancing in their training, which this week focuses on marksmanship—one of the four fundamental skills of every Colombian Marine.

Through long-gun exercises, these young women are developing technical shooting fundamentals and strengthening their safe, responsible weapon handling, self-control, and ability to respond appropriately during each drill. This training is part of the preparation they receive for their 12-month military service. Upon completing their training phase at the Marine Corps Instruction Battalions in Coveñas, they will be assigned to various Colombian Navy units across the country, where they will help strengthen security and contribute to the well-being of local communities.

At the Marine Corps Training Base, men and women prepare with discipline and dedication to take on the mission of serving and protecting Colombia.
