Hi guys for all the shows that I have been to (and that's not been many) I'm so impressed by the workmanship that some of the individuals who show off their work have inspired me to have a go myself.
There are some great posts here on this group..... So I'm going to have a go 😁 and try to make a scene that was well known to many that serverd in Germany in the 70 and 80s.
I'm going to try to represent the Sidings..... A scene where the vehicles are loaded onto a railway flatbed before moving from our home base in Dortmund to our exercises are at Sennelager.
This would be a very familiar operation to any unit that had large equipment.
On the flatbed I'm going to have two vehicles an Abbot and a 432 hopefully with crew figures fixing the chains and securing the vehicles into position.
The building of the diorama will be in 1/72 scale and In my mind I hope to have some buildings that will give it the look that I'm after.
At this moment I don't have the vehicles but I'm in talks with someone who can provide me with what I want in 3D print and will update this post when I have more news.

Hi guy's with still so much stuff to hunt down I thought that I will start my project by making a start on the flat bed.
This picture shows that C16 is an optional item so I have just gone and left them off.
As there is no rush to this build I'm going to just take it slowly so post will be when I get each part done 😁.
I have had a good look at the instructions there's not a lot to this build but the bits are wee I don't know why I put myself through 1/72 kits but in the end there's a lot of satisfaction creating a quality model in such detail 🤣🤣🤣.
What else would I get up to.

Hi guy's the first two pictures show the frame and running gear complete and with no oops in the process.

Next the rail tracks hear seen with the struts in place and tape to hold them in position as I spot glue just to get them to stay and I will come in from the back side with more to strengthen the hole thing.

The colour chart so I have had to get some that I didn't have

I still have just a few wee bits to do but they can go on after paint.... Handles.... chains and extras bits.

Parts now painted some tiny bits to add.... Get the decals on

Hi guys, as I have been going through this build, I'm always impressed that the bits come off their mounting frame very easily..... This is a great help when you work with such a small scale as there will be fewer opportunities for breaking the item being cut out.
As I have just noticed that the brake handle in the frame is broken so I have had to cut out the bits and glue them back together.
Top tip time........ As you can see in the pictures I have placed the two parts on a sheet of paper and brought the parts together and I dripped the glue onto the joint.
After letting it go off for about 10 minutes I then took a sharp blade and slowly slid it under the piece and it comes away clean.

That went well.... Only going to do one end the other will be used as part of the diorama

Excellent work. These tiny fragile parts look really daunting.

Hi guys today arrived the vehicles for the railway flatbed diarama... I have chosen the 432 and a ferret for this project.
The vehicles are 3D print and have good details on them and the FV432 has side skirts as many prints don't have this as an option.
I have a selection of weapons that I can fit which comes with the vehicles.

So.. part two will continue soon.

... DAM... after studying the vehicles something is not right
Yeah it's the FV432 is to big it's 28mm and I should have got the 1/72 from the drop down menu when purchasing..... My fault.
New one on the way......

Do you have a 3d printer of your own? Could be a time saver.

Hi guys arrived today the correct size .... 1/72 FV432 will start getting it painted in the next few days

Test fit... now that looks a lot better.

I have got some chain that looks great for scale as the ferret will be chained down as the 432 will be driving on with a soldier giving instructions.

If there are any members that have info on how to get some chalks for the underside of the tracks give me a shout.
