The Iranian Army Ground Force took delivery of over 1,000 new items, including combat equipment, missiles, vehicles and electronic warfare systems.
The military equipment and gear that have been manufactured, optimized or overhauled by the Ground Force experts were unveiled in a ceremony attended by Army Commander Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi.

Up armoured Chieftains, and T55? Chieftains probably good enough for anyone Iran is going to meet, I wonder of they changed the engines? Original was not great, and would be 50 years old.....

In 1988, as part of Operation Prometheus, the Clemenceau was deployed in the Persian Gulf with its Crusaders and Super Etendards. On some occasions, Iranian P-3 Orions were intercepted by F-8E(FN) aircraft. None of these interceptions degenerated into combat.
But the French drivers were determined to fight it out if necessary.
Dogfights between the "Crouze" of the "Royale" and the IRIAF's F-4E, F-14A and F-5E would certainly have been very interesting, but fortunately that didn't happen.
