I'm now too old, but I'd have loved so much sailing with her... She was built in 1896 to transport cocoa, and bears the name of Belem the Brasilian station of Menier, the French chocolate producer. She escaped the volcanic eruption at St Pierre in 1902 that destroyed thetown and the harbor, as it didn't find a berth since none was left then...
 
I was fortunate enough to see her during one of the Armada de Rouen some twenty years ago, but of course never got close to sailing. Thanks for the recap, an eventful and still ongoing life no doubt.
