Some these pilots landed and took off from that highway with a noticeable crosswind.

I wonder if such things would still get the green light in today's risk adverse peacetime environment.

They showed us the F-4 Phantom land, but totally ripped us off on with no Phantom takeoff. I always liked seeing a Phantom bullying the air into letting it up.
