We had just in news that some ex-officer (Captain) has stolen 3 assault rifles and a pistol from FDF. He used his old ID-card and had uniform of a Major when he signed those weapons. He said he needs them for personnel's practise. No one checked any of this.
News said that those weapons weren't even missed for months; whole issue came to light when the pistol was found during a drug bust in Helsinki.
FDF announced it's going to tighten it's ID checks (we'll see)

This wasn't first time things like this happens. I remember at least 2 cases where explosives have been stolen from FDF storage. These storage facilities had not been in military area and without any guards, only lock on the door!

How's the situation in other countries, do you have such a poor security in weapons and explosives storages?

No mate if anything it goes a bit over the top, as far as I can remember.
