Posting this video here. I agree beforehand, this is mostly conjecture although, in my opinion, an educated one, given the credentials of the sources it is based upon.

The headline is, IMO, over-dramatizing the content, but such are YouTube's rules in order to generate traffic *shrug*. But the question it generates is a valid one : has Xi pulled a Stalin's purge on the PLA? And in that case, what are the reasons & the implications? Food for thought, no answers due soon.

More food for thought. A short resume of the video.
The crisis seems indeed deeper and more serious than the 1st video led to believe. Various incidents, including possible armed clashes, seem to imply that despite, or because of, the purges of the military top command, Xi's grip on the military seems to be eroding. These purges are more extensive than previously told, starting to reach lower and lower in the military, in stalinesque fashion, prompting the Chinese military to show reluctance in executing orders from the top. In the end, Xi's thirst for absolute power, the consequence of the normal way of things in communist regimes, may well lead to the premature closing of China's window of opportunity to attain global hegemony.

My opinion : hey, Xi, who's a paper tiger now? *hearty laugh*
