"Putin proposed ceasefires twice — and violated both of them almost immediately. Now, suddenly, Donald Trump is publicly announcing a three-day ceasefire around Russia’s Victory Day parade. The question is obvious: did Putin need Trump to secure what he could not control himself? This video breaks down the collapse of Russia’s unilateral truce, Moscow’s visible anxiety ahead of May 9th, and why the Kremlin suddenly appears desperate to protect Red Square from humiliation." - Professor Gerdes.

An episode featuring the Russian Peresvet combat laser system was shown in honor of the 81st anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The Peresvet system was first shown in 2018, and at the same time, it began experimental combat duty at missile bases in Teikovo, Yoshkar-Ola, and Novosibirsk. The Peresvet system is capable of protecting facilities from air and space threats, such as aircraft and satellites. Essentially, the Peresvet air defense system is a missile defense system, similar to the S-500 air defense system. The laser blinds enemy guidance systems, suppressing optical systems and possibly disabling them. The system is still classified; only general information is known. The Peresvet laser air defense system covers a circular area with a radius of 65–90 km and is capable of blinding satellites in Earth orbit at altitudes from 200 to 1,100 km.

"Putin declared a three-day ceasefire. By the second night, Russian strikes, battlefield assaults, and drone attacks were already exposing how fragile — and possibly performative — the entire thing was. While Moscow concentrated massive air defenses around the capital for Victory Day optics, the actual battlefield barely slowed down. Meanwhile, Ukraine continued adapting with long-range drones, robotic launch systems, and expanding pressure on Russia’s land bridge to Crimea. The result was a “ceasefire” that looked increasingly hollow almost as soon as it began." - Professor Gerdes.

"On Russian television, it’s panic, threats, and existential questions all over again: why is this happening? Ukraine has finally started responding to Russia’s attacks — and there’s one crucial difference worth noting: our army does not target civilians. Right now, the focus is on Russian oil refineries, the very facilities that help fund this country’s bloody war against Ukraine. And of course, the outrage in those studio chairs is immediate: how could this be? Even Vladimir Solovyov — the same man who regularly calls for merciless strikes on Kyiv — is now trying to explain that somehow, this is different, that things are “not exactly as they seem.” This is Spin Snipers, where we tear apart Kremlin drama and serve up the brutal facts — fast.
