As bad as the border situation has developped (and it did not start 4 years ago), the dismissal of Ukraine has more to do with a disturbing line of thought where the russian model becomes attractive as it much more policed and "smoothed out' of annoying people.

A bunch of bums at a Trump meeting in Waco cheering some kind of musician calling Zelensky a homosexual weirdo, a journalist standing idle as Putin develops his propaganda including that Poland started world war II, and Trump now having claimed the Russians defeated hitler. another respectful comment btw for the US military that it is now proven Trump has already insulted.

It is not the border. as bad as it is, the border is an excuse.

f***ing around like a future victim trying to survive by appeasement?

Some people in Western politics are mental childs and have nothing lost there in these times.

Especially when not recognizing the importance of urge of actions.

You can sit out local politics but not industrial war footing attacks by Putler.

Need some Churchill types now. Not the nice grand ma.

The thing is, the situation for Ukraine isn't nearly as bad as portrayed by many people in the West right now. If loosing 40,000 people on a city of 30 sqm is a success, there won't be many successes till Russia has no manpower anymore.

Also I'd suggest not to take every word from Ukraine for bare truth. They are just framing the war the way they can extract most equipment and money from Western backers: When winning it was "We will push them out; we will soon regain every inch victory is close."
Now that advancements have stalled, it is "We are on the brink of defeat; hel us defend democracy"
Mind you, Ukraine dioesn

These statements are more fund raisers than war reports. Mind you, o far Ukraine is only conscripting people >27y at present, so that's a huge untapped reserve for instance

Don't be funny with these 40,000.
4 million Ukrainians either fled to Russia or live in the Russian-controlled territories of Ukraine. Russia gives them passports, no matter if they like or not, and use them as a cannon fodder.
Everything is about the numbers: there are over 140 million people still living in RuZZia, while there are 26-27 million left in Ukraine.
The RuZZian losses are high, but the Ukrainian losses are far less sustainable. Anything lower than 1:5 benefits RuZZia, while it's more like 1:2 or 1:3 at best.
Another key factor is production.
The Western countries outsourced their production to #shitholeCountries who developed and became the Westerrn countries' competitors.
RuZZia produces a fvckton of equipment that is more than the West combined
To put the things into perspective, during the WW2, Japan had 1/8 of the US production capacity. Presently, China produces 60% more than the USA.
The only way is re-industrialisation and deglobalisation. Otherwise, we are fvcked.
The Western leaders were greedy and stupid enough to believe that making #shithole countries dependent on us and making them experience Westen technology and Western life style would make them as we are, while they have become a direct threat to us.

It's interesting that you say that, because it reveals the kind of "news" Europeans are exposed to. To even imagine that the current border catastrophe is not really that big of a deal couldn't be further from the truth. By this year, Biden will have let 18 MILLION, unknown, undocumented, unvetted, illegal aliens into the country. And these are not huddled families. These are mostly military aged males running amok, trafficking child sex slaves and drugs. The Drug Cartels are making a fortune at the border.

I can assure you:

IT'S THE BORDER!

That was the tag teams plan all along, brute Russia takes care f the resource side and China deindustrialises the West with help of shirtsighted managers selling off hundred years of work for a quick buck.

So they can, in their eyes, recreate the US favorable position in WWII. For their final assault on the West.

But it's not 1941 anymore.

An episode of the battle of the Russian 114th brigade of the 1st Army Corps, which took place near a coal waste heap near the Avdeevka coking plant. The beginning of the fighting near Adeevka. The filming was carried out from a drone by military correspondent Andrei Filatov, who also commented, the ending of the battle was cut out, the waste heap was stormed by tanks and using drones. The video shows a military column moving towards the waste heap. The column consisted of four T-72B3M tanks, two BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicles, a Typhoon armored vehicle, and judging by the video, the new VPK-Ural armored vehicle was used; videos of all the equipment are on the channel. During the assault, one tank was damaged by unknown means, possibly by a drone. Another damaged equipment is also visible in the frame, but its identity could not be determined. You can also see in the video its use by the Ukrainian army. The second part of the fight was published in telegram, link below.

If Europe was seeing 4M arrivals in Italy/Greece, meanwhile Mexico was invading Colombia, I think Europe would focus on the arrivals, not something happening halfway round the world, and in an area we regard as USA's backyard.

And its an election year, so yeah, 'domestic' is where its at. Yanks are unlikely to decide who to vote for, based on who will kill more russians in Ukraine.

And Germany just voted again not to supply Taurus. UK and Europe need to take the lead, not keep asking USA to do it. We have 2 nuclear powers, 3 aircraft carriers, 8 nuke missile subs, etc etc. And we have a lot of money - which becomes the same argument as USA, no-one is sending trucks of cash to Ukraine, its being donated mostly to be spent in our countries, on weapons for ukraine, etc.

That said, its still a massive and cheap way of winning what remains of the cold war, or improving our position for the next war, without losing our own people, for all of us inc USA.

As a German, I am ashamed that Scholz and Co. are incapable of making the right decisions. If I had the chance, I would prefer to send the Taurus cruise missiles to the Ukrainians better today rather than tomorrow...
