Truly sickening. They even executed both coppers as they lay dying, pleading for their lives. This is so sad, and so awefully unnecessary. God, I loath the arrogance of these sovereign citizen types. It's high time we began to take these sick dregs for what they are: enemies not merely of "the government", but of us all – as they refuse to respect the right of we, the people, to decide how the country should be run.

You get what you vote for.

And next time they'll vote the exact same and be shocked that things continue to go downhill.

Please pardon my ignorance in the matter. Sovereign citizens are those who are sometimes called "aborigines"?

No, "sovereign citizens" are people who claim that the lawful government holds no jurisdiction over them, and that they need not follow the law of the land. Some are frauds who attempt to avoid a fine or prison sentence with this outrageous defence; but quite many of them are extremist nutcases.

Aboriginals, or Indigenous, or first nations people, or first peoples, or mob, or... but not sovereign citizens.

The movement, which appeared in the early 1970s, is American in origin and exists primarily in the United States, though it has expanded to other countries. Notably, the freeman on the land movement, an offshoot of the sovereign citizen movement with similar doctrines, emerged during the 2000s in Canada before spreading to other Commonwealth countries.[4] However, sovereign citizens as such have also appeared in these countries and others. In the United States, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) describes sovereign citizens as "anti-government extremists who believe that even though they physically reside in this country, they are separate or "sovereign" from the United States."

Nebrhogger’s question is an interesting one, as I certainly don’t visualize an Indigenous person when I hear the term ”sovereign citizen“. ?

Though these days aboriginal franchise is sovereignty.
Over here three(five) waters and separate health agency both pushed by Cindy.
Two major tribes got over 100 mill each the other day for their perpetual top up on their original claim. Which we were told at the time was a final settlement.

Not putting this one in the terror thread, it may be according to very early statements from the Parisian attorney/prosecutors and police sources a racist motive behind this 69 year old French citizen killing 3, injuring others near a Kurdish cultural center.

Following on form the indigenous sovereignty theme..

Residents of a tiny village facing demolition say they've got nowhere to go with no compensation, as mana whenua juggles an issue not of its making. AMBER ALLOTT reports.
It’s more than halfway through their deadline to leave, but residents of a tiny Canterbury village facing demolition are hanging on.
Many say they have nowhere else to go.
In 2020, landowner Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu told the owners of 32 baches and homes it would not renew land leases for Greenpark Huts, on the edge of Lake Ellesmere, when they expired on June 30, 2024.
All buildings and belongings would need to be removed at the expense of the hut owners, with no compensation.
So a Maori tribe that has recorded history of violent land tenure then has reaped great wealth that it never ever would have earned from its worthless land evicts lessees....wheres even a little measure of good faith in return?
Early British settlers were all paid by British taxpayers to develope it. Some settlements went broke despite this subsidy. It therefor had less than no value .. be honest.

The Ngāi Tahu settlement, and indeed all settlements, have been estimated as less than 1 per cent of the value of the assets that were improperly acquired from the ownership of these groups.

A retrospective fantasy land. Where were they when breaking in the land. Inch by inch. Well they weren't. Lets be frank Maori land was notable by its gorse or was developed by Lands and Survey/Landcorp then handed back 100% for free.
How about Maori they enslaved suing today. There's not been one of those. Maybe Taxcindy when she goes to the UN can focus in on worldwide reparation and such.
