Hello,

I am here in hopes to maybe find a NAM Veteran that may have known my dad David Barker. My dad was in the Navy from 1964-1968. He was hard hat diver not sure when he graduated. He has since past away, but I thought it maybe interesting to locate and talk to someone that may have known him while serving in Vietnam. I dont have much information from when he was there as he never would talk about it which I understand.

Attaching a couple photos. I tried enhancing them but not sure how well it worked or if I made them worse. :)

Welcome to MI.net @TriciaC1971 (Y)

Do you have a copy of your dad's DD214? It will help you work out what units he was in and where he was.

Welcome to MInet Tricia.
I concur with BravoZulu, if you can get a copy of his DD214 you'll have a much better starting point. I'm a member of both of my Battalion's associations, 6RAR deployed to Vietnam twice and 8RAR and 9RAR both deployed once, the list of veterans passing away grows by the week. I can only urge you to make haste if you want to find any of your fathers comrades. Try unit groups on social media, the old boys down here use it a lot to keep in touch and to organise reunions.
