Indian Coast Guard Region (A&N) conducted Regional Maritime Search & Rescue Exercise Re SAREX 25 off Sri Vijaya Puram. The event included a table tap exercise on 27 Nov 25. The Sea phase on 28 Nov 25, demonstrated coordinated Mass Rescue Operation (MRO) followed by Medical Triage for survivors. The exercise witnessed active participation from local maritime SAR Stake holders, thereby reinforcing preparedness, inter-agency synergy in maritime SAR response and resolve of ICG towards safety of life and property at sea.

In the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah, INS Vikrant & INS Udaygiri at Colombo delivered immediate assistance by providing relief provisions at short notice. Ship-borne helicopters were deployed for aerial recce of the affected areas and augmented ongoing Search & Rescue efforts, leading to successful rescue of Sri Lankan citizens.

SITMEX 2025 successfully concluded on 29 Nov. During the sea phase of the exercise ANC's ships and Dornier aircraft operated with Singapore Navy and Royal Thai Navy in high-intensity maritime missions in Andaman Sea honing interoperability and tactical synergy for regional maritime security.
