Kind of not surprising, but also tricky.

When you live in a place where most people have ties with Hamas/Hezbollah/Al Nusra/etc..., where most buildings are used in some ways shapes or forms by these groups for various purposes, even if you are trying to get straighten your life you will inevitably end up getting in contact, no matter how direct or indirect, with these people and organizations.

And considering the psychological impact the war in Gaza had on the civilian populations; there surely will be people who either got radicalized or further radicalized.

Not condoning the abuse in any shape or form, but let's not lose the site of the fact, that the "detainees" were October 7... "participants", for the lack of a better term.
An ugly affair all around and all sides were wrong in this. This should have been handled professionally by the military police and prosecution. Instead, the right-wingers made it into a complete January 6th-like shitshow, and the subsequent video leak did even more damage to the county during the time of war. Absolutely disgusting.

It's not the job of the MAG to leak sensitive surveillance footage from a high security facility to the public...

This did massive damage to hasbara which is already weak enough, it was a gift for the pallybots and she put the hostages in danger. Crucially it's prejudiced the upcoming trial and the defendants lawyers are calling for them all to be cleared because they can't get a fair hearing. The Nukhba detainee who was the alleged "victim" was also released into Gaza during the hostage/prisoner swap, so not sure how that will work with any kind of witness testimony.

Apparently the truth of the matter is that he tried to smuggle a phone up his asshole and it was removed when they discovered it, not that they randomly attacked him in almost full view of the cameras. To some extent, it can be understood why the detainee didn't say anything.

As a man, being raped by other men is disgraceful and something a "brave fighter of the Palestinian Resistance" would like to keep quiet about.
