Meh, why veto?
That's what I meant earlier by writing there's no "credible" reason to veto. Doesn't mean there aren't any reasons—particularly for a leader who thinks in purely transactional terms. By facilitating a German nuke, Washington would lose a lever that it has at least threatened to use in the past, e.g. when J.D. Vance publicly mulled ignoring an Article V situation if Germany or the EU passed new regulations for Twitter/X.I always thought Trump wanted a strong Germany, so why would he veto it?
