Finnish, Swedish and British forces are ready for the force-on-force phase of the exercise. Exercise Lapland Steel 25 will develop joint operational capabilities with allies and verify the training received by conscripts, which will prepare them for wartime missions.

Exercise "Lapland Steel 25", Finland, December 2025

The exercise, conducted in varying weather conditions, put the conscripts of the Jaeger Brigade, who will soon be transferred to the reserves, to the test, but their skills and perseverance were impressive. At the same time, together with Swedish (Norrbotten Regiment I-19) and British troops, we took the alliance's deterrence and defense capabilities in the northern region a step further, sums up Colonel Marko Kivelä, the exercise commander.
Exercise "Lapland Steel 25" has ended, and the Finnish, Swedish and British troops are on their way back to their home bases. Naarmankaira is quieting down – but only until the next exercise.
