Quote/Poem Finally, we lay them to rest

They were but boys
faithful and storng
that answered the call
to save their nation from wrong.

They endured the heat, the pain
they trudged for many days and many a night
in Wind, sun and rain
to earn the sacred right

they left thier family, thier homes thier lives
to fight in a land they barely knew
through hell they fought, sailed and flew
the soldiers, sailors, and flyboys they were called

they gave thier lives
and saved many more
they saw the demon
that we call war
and now the veterans
have passed the greatest test
and so under the Flag
finally we lay them to rest
