The Aviation and Air Assault Division (Davaa) of the Colombian Army currently has an operational availability of its fleet of Lockheed Martin (Sikorsky Aviation) Black Hawk UH-60A/L helicopters equal to or greater than 70% of the units.

The CCOES or Joint Command of Special Operations was created in 2007 to replace the CUNOE Unified Command of Special Operations, it has around 5,000 highly trained men specialized in irregular warfare, direct action, and intelligence gathering on battlefields in various dimensions (air, land, water, and cybernetic), is in charge of planning and executing special operations inside and outside the national territory against terrorist groups, high-value targets, and organized crime, all of which have high operational, tactical, and strategic importance for the Colombian state.As for its structure that has been made public, it is known:Headquarters of the Joint Special Operations Command. Since 1972, the Mirage 5COA have been the backbone of the Air Force, by 1990, with the arrival of the IAI Kfir, they underwent updating processes with technicians from Israel and Colombia and were renamed the Mirage 5COAM, until 2010, when they were retired from service after 38 years of uninterrupted flight defending the Colombian skies.
