So, the Venezuelan/Cubans might have said. "Those D-boys are freaking studs. Best in the world. They came out of nowhere, fast roped off their Chinooks and smoked our asses before we even knew what happened". Instead, it was "alien technology"

The one thing I find funny about this debunking though is the use of official government reporting like that's a good way of judging whether $10,000 was really spent on a hammer and $20,000 on a toilet seat and not on black projects which of course no report is going to mention.
I do believe there was plenty of electronic warfare going on, unconventional weapons, and so on. But what has been been described sounds like Tier One forces coming in with immense speed and violence at a level most militaries can't even imagine.

I dont think its so much the tech, its the co-ordination, which has to be recon, planning to the second, and backups. if at the same time your nose and ears burst, your not going to be to quick on the draw.
Makes sense. (Electronic) banking is monitored and sanctioned so they have to move it physically (I doubt one unreliable broke cleptocracy is going to trust IOUs from another unreliable broke cleptocracy).
Details have emerged regarding the inactivity of Venezuela's air defenses during the US military operation "Operation Absolute Resolve" on January 3. It's worth noting that during the US military operation, only two Venezuelan MANPADS and one air defense missile launch were recorded. Some Buk-M2E air defense systems were not even removed from their hangars in Catia La Mar; they were hit by AGM-154C-1 air defense bombs. Some air defense systems were deployed in urban areas, where they cannot operate effectively. According to The New York Times, citing US intelligence agencies, Venezuela purchased S-300VM Antey-2500 and Buk-M2E air defense systems from Russia, but was unable to maintain and operate them properly, lacking the necessary specialists. Some air defense components were not connected to radars or were not commissioned. Months of warnings about a possible attack did not result in air defense systems and the Air Force being put on alert.
Am I the only person who thinks it's odd that you'd sally out a submarine to escort a cargo ship instead of a much faster surface combatant visibly flying the flag?
Maybe the sub was seen as an option to deniably sink the ship to prevent the cargo from falling into enemy hands?
The ship was travelling from Iran to Venezuela. Perhaps Russia being short of everything got Iran to ship AShM, drones or LAM's to Venezuela? And then when in trouble the ship tries to run for the only country which the US might be deterred from messing with besides China.
an American energy executive and former diplomat who served as the 69th United States secretary of state from 2017 to 2018 in the first administration of Donald Trump.[3][4][5] From 2006 to 2016, he was chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of ExxonMobil.
If there are incriminating evidence that could hurt Russia, I don't see why they wouldn't share them.
In fact, they wouldn't even need to have actual incriminating evidence to begin with. It has been done in the past on numerous occasions on not just against Russia. It a fairly common practice.
Maybe there is something, maybe there isn't.
Maybe what we are told is true, maybe it isn't.
