GLADYS MARY JENKS. Leading Wren N/67722 WRNS HMS Victory IV.
15 December 1901 to Daughter of Harry George and Frances Hannah Jenks, of Liverpool.
1911 with her parents and siblings at 75 Mulliner Street, Liverpool, Lancashire.
The 07 October 1933 she embarked from Liverpool to New York USA. Her residence in England was 75 Avondale Road, Liverpool, occupation age 31, domestic. The 24 July 1933 she disembarked at Liverpool from New York then to her home Avondale Street, Liverpool age 31, a domestic.
1946 she was residing alone at 75 Avondale Road, Liverpool.
She was last seen alive on the 15th February 1947 and her body was found in the River Mersey the same day at Wallasey, Cheshire age 45 years. Cause of death asphyxiation by drowning. Coroner’s verdict. No evidence to show how she came to be in the water. At rest in Toxeth Cemetery, Liverpool, Lancashire.

The following was extracted from The Yorkshire Evening Post dated 23 June 1947
On the 22 June 1947 she died of her injuries at Malton and District Hospital, Malton, Yorkshire following a collision between two motor on the Malton-York road, near Whitwell
One car was driven by Hon Willoughby of Minehead. She, along with her friend were passengers in the other car, driven by Mr H Fowler. They were returning from Goathland. His car was thrown on to a road side ammunition shelter. He was taken to hospital. Her friend appeared to have been uninjured.
She was a Wren in the war and had hoped to become a teacher.
