In proud memory of Vice Admiral Commodore 2nd Class EGERTON Wion De Malpas (Retired) H.M.S. Eaglet Royal Navy Reserve, who gave his life for his country in the battle of the Atlantic while serving as Commodore of Convoys. Born 16th April 1879 Died 1 Jan 1943 aged 63. Son of Field-Marshal Sir Charles Egerton, G.C.B., D.S.O., A.D.C., and Lady Egerton (nee Hill); husband of Anita Adolphine Egerton, of Chilfrome, Dorsetshire. J.P. D S O, Twice Mentioned in Despatches. Commemorated on the Liverpool Naval Memorial, Lancashire.
