William Lewis BLAIR. Leading Signalman 209118, Royal Navy on HMS Britannia. Born 11th January 1885 at West Ham, London to William John and Annie Blair, nee Nicholls. In 1891 he was living with his parents aged 3 at 120 Vicarage Land, West Ham. Enlisted 30th March 1900, occupation prior to enlistment, striker. In 1911 he was living with his wife Elizabeth Jane at 22 Guildford Street, Landport, Portsmouth, occupation, Leading Signalman, Royal Navy Died 5th March 1913 aged 28 years 28 of pulmonary tuberculosis in a hospital in Malta. His wife was informed of his death 6th March 1913. His memorial was erected by his sorrowing shipmates. At rest in Plot B Grave 221, Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta.
