- Rifleman 17409 William CAMPBELL. 14th Royal Irish Rifles. Born at Ballymacarrett, Belfast 1893 to Jane, nee Wilson and William Campbell of Authuille House, 71 Hillsborough Drive, Belfast. In Irish 1901 census he was residing with his parents and siblings at 37 Ballymaglaff, County Down, 1911 residing with his parents at 99 Ogilvie Street, Belfast., occupation aged 16 years apprentice book binder. Killed in action 1 July 1916 aged 23 years. His father was granted a war gratuity 1 July 1917 revised 30 September 1919. Commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France.
