Born 25 January 1898 at St Andrews Scotland to James Hunter and Jessie Haddow, nee Wishart.
May 1918 Joined Royal Navy as M29673. Civilian occupation, engine fitter. Posted to Shore Base HMS Vivid II Devonport, Devon as Engine Room Artificer 5th class. 9 May 1918 joind HMS Pelargonium in Gibraltar with rank of ERA 4 class. 3 March 1919 on shore for demobilization.
WW2 He joind the Merchant Navy, date not known
Died 24 April 1946 aged 47 years from shock and multiple injuries due to a fall ashore. He may have fallen from one of the many bastions on shore.
Last known residence was16 Kinnesburn Road, St Andrews, Fife.
