Sidney (Sydney) Augustus WILLIE. Born 6 October 1881 at Gwalist, East Indies to Frederick and Sarah Ann Willie, nee Marlow. Husband of Antonia nee Burke. 1891 residing with his father and stepmother, Edith and siblings at 4 Ottawa Terrace, Hartington Road, Alverstoke. He enlisted into the navy 14 August 1897 on HMS St Vincent as Boy 2nd Class 195619 civilian occupation, farm boy.
1901 in Gibraltar with the navy aged 19, rank, Ordinary Seaman. 1905 he married his wife at Floriana, Malta. Died in Central Civil Hospital, Malta 25 September 1915 aged 34 years. His mother died in 1885 in Hampshire.

His father born 1848 at Bristol Gloucestershire. Served in the 54th Regiment of Foot (West Norfolk Regiment). In 1871 he was visiting the home of John Hall (Stationer and local preacher, and Sarah at Denholm, Warley, Yorkshire aged 24 years. Occupation, Sergeant in the 46th Regiment of Foot (West Norfolk Regiment). In 1874 he was in west Bengal, India, where he was married Sarah.
His half-brother Ernest Edgar Willie. Joined the Royal Army Medical Corps 9 September 1914 aged 21 years private 467057.Resided at 68 Parham Road, Gosport, Hampshire with his parents. His father Frederick Willie was his next of kin. On the 6 June 1918 he was discharged in India as Corporal on the appointment to a commission in India, Army Reserve of Officers. He had served 3 years and 271 days, prior to his commission
