Colonel John Edward Sarson, C.B., O.B.E., V.D., T.D., D.L., 4th Leicestershire Regiment from 1860 to 1937. Died 29th April 1940 aged 95. He lived at 23, Woodland Avenue, Leicester and died at Tiptoe Lodge, Tiptoe, Hampshire. His effects from Probate went to Edward Vipan Sarson, retired colonel and Miss Margaret Elizabeth Sarson. He was married to Emily nee Vipan in 1875
