Samuel Edgar THOMPSON. Corporal 3382573, 18th Divisional Provost Coy. Corps of Military Police. Born 27 July 1907 in Belfast, Ireland. Son of Samuel Edgar and Rebecca Thompson of 27 Cumberland Street, Belfast. Died at Sonkrai of diarrhoea whilst a prisoner of war in Malaya 7 August 1943 aged 35 years. He was held as a POW in Canu Jungle Camp and Changia POW Camp. His effects of £204 17s went to his widowed mother.

At rest in Thanbyuzayat War Cemetery, Burma.

Commemorated on a family grave in Dundonald Cemetery, Dundonald, Northern Ireland.
