Husband of Ellen Hooper, Bond End, Upton St. Leonards. Son of William and Harriet Hooper of (1881) Portway Road, Upton St Leonards. Christmas 1904 at St Leonards Church, Upton St Leonards he married Miss Ellen Moss. In 1911 he was residing with his wife, Ellen k/aNellie and his children, William Charles born 2 February 1906 and Wrenford Arthur born 6 September 1910 at Bondend, Upton St Leonards Gloucestershire, occupation, Farm labourer.
Some notes of what remains of his army records -
He joined up 21 June 1916 at Gloucestershire Regiment Barracks, Horfield, Bristol aged 35 years and 5 months, occupation, cowman. No.6121. He had previously served with the 6th Garrison Artillery. He was discharged from the army 13 September 1917 as being no longer physically fit for war service. He was awarded the British War and Victory Medals.
At rest at Upton St Leonards, St Leonard Churchyard, Gloucestershire.

Headstone inscription reads R G Hooper, when in fact he was R C Hooper. Matter has been raised with CWGC to be corrected.
