Recoiless Rifle Ammo

Recoiless Rifle Ammunition found in the mountainous region of Kohi Sofi Afghanistan On March 27 2003 by US Troops
Yes its real but I didnt find it, it was found by american troops.
I understand you just fine.

Webmaster, This looks like a mortar round in a recoilless rifle casing.(Note the perforated shell casing.) Do you know anything about the type of weapon that fires this round? This is a new one on me. :p

sorry mate no I know nothing about it, I first thought it might be an RPG round but it seems I will have to stand corrected.

The RPG round loads from the front of the launcher. This round laods from the rear like a recoilless rifle. If I can locate a picture of an RPG, I'll post it.

Webmaster, After looking thru the web, I've come to the conclusion that the ammo you have pictured is either a 90mm or 107mm recoilless rifle round. The Russians did have those weapons.

I think I may have found the weapon that fires that round. It's called the SPG-9M. Picture follows. As you can see, it's a recoilless rifle.

Andy, my nephew just returned from Iraq. He was with the 1086th engineers out of Louisiana. He saw quite a few of these rounds and the weapon that fired it. I was right. It was a recoilless rifle.

He has some and is supposed to bring them and show them to us as soon as he gets them all developed.
